Building Mongolia’s Human Capital: Challenges, Regional Context, and Emerging Solutions

Mr G.Gantushig, Founder and Executive Director of Teach for Mongolia, and Ms D.Nomin, Chair of the Board of Teach for Mongolia, have co-authored an article titled “Building Mongolia’s Human Capital: Challenges, Regional Context, and Emerging Solutions” published in Issue No.2 of the Winter 2026 edition of the CAMCA Network Quarterly Magazine.



The article examines key challenges in human capital development in Mongolia, with particular emphasis on disparities between urban and rural education, persistent teacher shortages, and concerns regarding the quality of learning outcomes. These issues are analyzed within a broader Central Asian regional context, highlighting common trends and shared challenges across the region.


The authors further underscore the critical role of civil society organizations, including Teach for Mongolia, in addressing systemic gaps in education. The article presents emerging, practical approaches and innovative solutions aimed at strengthening Mongolia’s education system and advancing sustainable human capital development.
