From June 16 to July 4, 2025, a delegation from Teach For Malaysia (TFMalaysia) visited
Mongolia to collaborate with Teach For Mongolia (TFMongolia) over three weeks. During
this time, they worked together across multiple areas, including curriculum development,
leadership growth, and alumni engagement, while exchanging valuable knowledge and
experiences.

During the collaboration period between both teams:
● Engaged in discussions comparing the program structures, teaching methodologies, and
leadership approaches.
● Joint training sessions and seminars were held focusing on the summer institute (SI), STEM
education, teaching methods, and strategies to enhance alumni engagement, allowing
for practical experience exchange.
● Hosted field training sessions and informal meetings in Terelj and Tsonjin Boldog
(equestrian statue of Genghis Khan) to strengthen relationships between the teams.
● The delegation participated in the graduation ceremony of the fellowship program’s
second cohort and shared international best practices and examples of alumni network
management.
Highlighted Sessions:
“Theory of Leadership & Alumni Impact” – Kevin Tham
In this session, Summer Institute participants explored the concept that leadership is not innate
but a skill that can be cultivated. They studied how leadership begins with the individual, is
strengthened through collective effort, and can drive change at the systemic level. The session
introduced key leadership frameworks, tools for assessment, and real-world examples of alumni
demonstrating impact through leadership.
“Lead Others: Building Partnerships” – Aina & Miza
This practical session was designed for teachers working in local schools and focused on
building effective partnerships with school leaders, fellow teachers, and students. Participants
learned how to navigate real-world challenges through collaborative problem-solving and
explored strategies to foster trust and alignment within school communities. The session
equipped them with essential knowledge and skills to build meaningful, results-driven
relationships in their school environments.

This visit marked an important step in strengthening strategic collaboration between the two
organizations, enhancing mutual trust and a culture of shared learning, while supporting
leadership in the education sector across the region.
