Enhancing Lesson Planning with Gemini AI

Based on participants’ requests and learning needs, the December monthly online session was organized under the theme “Using Gemini AI for Effective Lesson Planning.” The session was facilitated by E.Zolzaya, one of the first alumni of the 2024 cohort of the Teach for Mongolia Program and a Board Member, who introduced practical approaches and real-life examples of how Gemini AI can be used effectively in teachers’ daily lesson planning. 

The key highlight of this session was its focus on the thoughtful and effective use of artificial intelligence, Gemini AI, in teaching and learning processes. During the session, participants were introduced to practical ways to reduce teachers’ workload, optimize time management, and enhance students’ engagement and active participation.

During the session, fellows worked on the following focus areas:

• Using AI to develop lesson objectives, plans, and curriculum content

• Quickly and effectively designing assignments, questions, and assessment criteria

• Creating explanations and examples tailored to students’ levels and learning needs

• Automating repetitive teaching tasks to allow more time for creative and strategic work

Participants worked with real-life examples and case studies, gaining practical skills in using Gemini AI effectively in their daily lesson planning. As a result, the session reinforced the understanding that AI is not meant to replace teachers, but rather to support and enhance their professional practice, one of the key outcomes of the meeting.
